Weddings at Westwood United Methodist Church
Westwood United Methodist Church has been the setting for beautiful weddings since the first chapel was built in 1929. Our present sanctuary was built in 1951. It is a wonderful example of Spanish Gothic and Contemporary architectures. One of the most outstanding features is the Glory Window located above the altar. This amazing stained glass window depicts Christ’s life in multi-color glass. It is covered by the same patterns in metal with a 24 gold-leaf overlay. Another outstanding feature is The Shaffer Memorial Organ IV / 159 ranks, 131 digital voices, 290 registers. This wonderful instrument can play trumpets and chimes, which make glorious fanfares and send offs.
Weddings usually occur on Saturday mornings (11:00), and Saturday afternoons (4:00) but times are flexible. Weddings may also take place other days of the week if the church calendar permits.
The sanctuary seats a maximum of 600 people. Church event parking is in a Professional Building at 10351 Santa Monica Blvd (northeast corner of Santa Monica Blvd and Beverly Glen Blvd). There is no cost for this or for the shuttle service to and from the church. If the reception site is within 7 miles, the shuttle can be to and from your reception site, rather than the Professional Building.
Westwood United Methodist Church is conveniently located east of Westwood Village, on the northeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Warner Avenue. The church approximately 1.5 miles east of the 405 Freeway (Wilshire Bloulevard exit).

The inclusive fee for a wedding at Westwood United Methodist Church is $2000.00. The following is included for this amount:
* Use of Sanctuary for rehearsal (Thursday or Friday evening prior to wedding, starting no sooner than 6 PM). No music is played during the evening rehearsal.
* Use of Sanctuary for wedding photography and ceremony (3 hours prior to 2 hours after)
* Officiant (Westwood United Methodist Church’s Minister)
A family’s Minister may co-officiate. The extent is determined by Westwood United Methodist Church’s Minister.
* Wedding Director (Westwood United Methodist Church’s)
Note: Commercial Wedding Coordinators are asked to respect church policy and are not permitted to work at the church
* Organist (Westwood United Methodist Church’s)
Includes thirty minutes of prelude music, music throughout ceremony, processionals, recessional and accompanying soloists as needed
* Church Custodian
* Use of Bride’s room for dressing prior to wedding
* Use of room for Groom and his attendants for dressing prior to wedding
* 8 Pairs of Wedding Torches.
* Nylon tulle swags and bows to adorn the candelabra
* Unity candleholder and candles for Unity Candle lighting
* CD recording of the ceremony
Other features such as soloists and a white cloth runner may be secured for you by the Wedding Director at additional costs.
Officiating by a couples' family minister may be considered, however, this is at the discretion of the WUMC Sr. Minister.
