Stop Hunger Now - Meal Build
Posted on 05/02/2013
The Loft and Westwood UMC are working with Westside Churches Working Together (WCWT), a food collaborative of eight churches in the West L.A area dedicated to creating and building partnerships within our neighborhoods to address the concerns of hunger.
On Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. we will be building meal packages for Stop Hunger Now. We hope to gather 150 people in our Fellowship Hall so that we can pack 50,000 meals! In addition to the labor, the WCWT will be raising funds to cover the costs associated with these meals (25 cents per meal). The more volunteers = more meals = more people fed around the globe. Our hope for Westwood is that we will provide 75 volunteers and $5,000.00 as our contribution to this event.
If you would like to participate in this extraordinary movement, contact us today! Together we will make a difference.
