Bible Study: Core Stories
Facilitator: John Woodall
Dr. Walter Brueggemann argues that the Bible is made up of eight core stories. These primal narratives are the most simple, elemental, and non-negotiable story lines at the heart of biblical faith. By understanding these core stories, we gain a good baseline of biblical comprehension. Rather than attempting to tackle the entirety of scripture, we can focus on these eight as an overview of the text. Join the discussion with Pastor John beginning May 5 through June 2.
Personal Reflections:“This is My Story”
Facilitator: Larry Owen
What’s your story? Where did you come from? What makes you, You? One of the best ways to know where you are going is to discover where you’ve been. This Is My Story is a complex, rich journey into your unique family story. These stories will be a gift to your loved ones in the future. This creative writing series begins June 23 and runs through July 14.
Book Group: What We Talk About When We Talk About God
Pastor Rob Bell explains why both culture and the church resist talking about God, and shows how we can reconnect with the God who is pulling us forward into a better future. Bell uses his characteristic evocative storytelling style to challenge everything you think you know about God. What We Talk About When We Talk About God tackles the misconceptions about God and reveals how God is with us, for us, ahead of us, and how understanding this changes the entire course of our lives. Dates to be announced at a later time.
